Hoffmann-La Roche is a Swiss global healthcare company. It was founded in 1896 by Fritz Hoffman-La Roche, and now operates under two divisions: pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Early on, the company was known for producing vitamin preparations and derivatives. It became the first company to mass-produce Redoxon (synthetic vitamin C). Roche has produced various HIV tests and antiretroviral drugs, as well as manufactures and sells several cancer drugs for chemotherapy.
