Career History
Mr. Tam has been working as a pharmacist for over 12 years now, and as a lawyer for about 10. He started working as a pharmacist for Walmart right after finishing his pharmaceutical degree, as this is where he completed his internship. Throughout university, he worked in the research field briefly. Working as a pharmacist throughout law school, he then moved to Shoppers Drug Mart. Before moving to Hoffmann-La Roche (Roche Canada), he completed his articling period at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. He was also a law clerk there, and then at Hoffmann-La Roche, before being appointed the Vice-President, Legal.
Mr. Tam has now been in his position as Vice-President, Legal at Hoffmann-La Roche for around nine months. Although he is not allowed to disclose his annual salary, he did say that it was in the six-figure range. In terms of where his career could lead him, Mr. Tam says that his career path may lead to a position as President, Legal at Hoffmann-La Roche or a similar pharmaceutical type firm, but that he is very content with his current job at the moment.
